The DWSD has agreed to a 15-day halt to shutoffs and to work with any families with financial need to keep their water on: “We want to help them and we want to make it as easy as possible for them to receive that help.”
The event will take place from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Eastside Customer Service Center located at 13303 E. McNichols, near Gratiot.
The Water Brigade stands ready to assist families in getting to the Water Affordability Fair and matching them with trained Water Advocates who will accompany them into the payment center to make sure they get support and a payment plan that is affordable for them.
Want to volunteer as a Water Advocate during all or any part of the day? Got a vehicle to help transport families to the Fair?
Sign up here and join us Friday night, August 1st for a brief training and free dinner: http://bit.ly/wateradvocate
And RSVP on Facebook!
