Every day, hundreds of low-income Detroiters are losing access to water in their homes because of an aggressive water shutoff program by the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department.
Thousands of families like ours are currently living without reliable access to running water to bathe, cook, clean, drink, brush their teeth and care for their elders and children.
We’ve taken our case to the highest court in the city – the Federal Courthouse downtown – and they have refused to end the shutoffs.
So we must step up and protect our neighbors and friends. Will you pledge your support with us?
The Detroit Water Pledge of Resistance
“I pledge, if necessary, to join others in my community, and engage in acts of dignified, peaceful civil disobedience that could result in my arrest in order to protect and uphold the human right to water in Detroit.”
